Renal is a twelve-year-old seventh grader who plays on the middle school soccer, basketball, and softball teams. She has been in leadership positions for all teams over the last two years. Renal was elected class president and is very involved in with pep club. Outside of class Renal is constantly responding to text messages sent by peers and reports steady traffic to her Face Book site. Everyone wants to be Renal’s friend. While Renal rarely earns As in her classes, she has a solid B. Renal is comfortable asking questions when she does not understand a concept, likes the challenge of difficult topics, and exploring a subject in-depth. Renal’s biggest challenge in class is keeping track of who last worked with her on a collaborative project, as her goal is to be work partner with everyone in a class.
